Anxiety Counselling in Herne Bay and Online

Anxiety can affect people in many different ways. You might find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking situations, struggling to switch off, feeling tense or experiencing panic. Sometimes there may be an obvious reason for these feelings; at other times, it can be difficult to understand why you feel anxious at all.
I offer a calm, confidential and supportive space where we can explore what you are experiencing at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Face-to-face counselling is available from my private counselling space in Herne Bay, alongside online and telephone sessions.

When anxiety starts affecting everyday life

Anxiety is a natural response to situations we find stressful or uncertain. But when anxious thoughts or feelings become difficult to manage, they can begin to affect everyday life.

You may experience:

• Constant worrying or overthinking
• Difficulty relaxing or switching off
• Panic or feelings of being overwhelmed
• Social anxiety or avoiding certain situations
• Problems sleeping
• Irritability or difficulty concentrating
• Physical tension or feeling constantly on edge
• Worry about work, relationships, family or the future

Everyone experiences anxiety differently. You don't need to wait until things feel unbearable before considering counselling.

How counselling may help with anxiety

Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk openly about what is happening without judgement or pressure.

As an integrative counsellor, I don't believe that one approach is right for everyone. We can work together to understand your individual experiences, recognise patterns that may be contributing to anxiety and explore ways of responding differently to difficult thoughts and feelings.

The aim isn't simply to tell you how to stop worrying. It is to help you develop a better understanding of yourself and find ways of managing life's challenges that feel right for you.

Counselling that works around you

I offer counselling for adults and teenagers from my private counselling space in Herne Bay, Kent.

The counselling space is separate from my home, with parking and easy access available.

If attending in person isn't convenient, I also offer online and telephone counselling, allowing you to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.

FAQ section

Is anxiety counselling confidential?

Yes. Counselling provides a private and confidential space to talk openly about what you are experiencing. I will explain confidentiality and its professional limitations when we first speak.

Do I need to have been diagnosed with anxiety?

No. You don't need a diagnosis to come to counselling. You may simply feel that worry, overthinking, panic or anxious feelings are beginning to affect your everyday life.

How many counselling sessions will I need?

There isn't a set number that is right for everyone. We can discuss what you would like from counselling and review how you feel the sessions are helping as we work together.

Can I have anxiety counselling online?

Yes. I offer face-to-face counselling in Herne Bay as well as online and telephone sessions.

What happens before my first session?

You can arrange a free 20-minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for and for you to ask any questions before deciding whether you would like to book a counselling session.

Ready to take the first step?

Reaching out for counselling can sometimes feel like the hardest part.

You don't have to decide immediately whether counselling is right for you. Start with a free, confidential 20-minute telephone consultation with Amanda and take things from there.

At Mindfulness Counselling, confidentiality and trust are paramount. Our peaceful environment in Herne Bay or remote options provide a secure space where you can speak openly about your feelings. We support you with empathy and professionalism at every stage.
